The Cignal Super Spikers have filed a leave of absence from the Premier Volleyball League following their 2025–26 All-Filipino Conference campaign, the club announced.

“This is to officially announce that the Cignal Super Spikers - Women’s Volleyball Team has filed a Leave of Absence in the Premier Volleyball League,” the team said in a statement. “This difficult decision was taken after careful review of Cignal’s strategic direction.”

The announcement came just days after the Super Spikers completed one of their strongest seasons in recent years, reaching the Finals for the first time in franchise history before falling to the Creamline Cool Smashers, who completed a championship sweep.

Cignal expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the program’s rise in the league.

“Our deepest thanks go out to the players, coaches, and staff who have poured their hearts into this team over the years. And to our fans, who have stood by us, maraming, maraming salamat,” the statement added.

The move follows a similar decision involving the franchise’s Spikers’ Turf men’s team, which also went on leave ahead of its Open Conference.

Cignal’s women’s squad emerged as a consistent contender since joining the PVL in 2021, collecting three silver medals and five bronze finishes across eight top-three placements in 15 conferences.

The recent Finals run was led by Conference MVP Vanie Gandler, alongside key contributors Erika Santos, Gel Cayuna, Dawn Catindig, Rose Doria-Aquino, Jackie Acuña, and Tine Tiamzon.
