Cignal has expanded its digital content offerings with the launch of “Cignal Play Microdrama,” a new collection of short-form vertical series available through its streaming platform, Cignal Play. The format became available to mobile users starting June 28.
The microdramas—episodes typically running under five minutes—are designed for vertical viewing and are accessible exclusively on Android and iOS devices.
The move signals Cignal’s entry into a growing global trend of mobile-first storytelling formats, often characterized by quick episodes and emotionally driven narratives.
Among the local titles in the initial slate are “I See You” starring Dimples Romana, “My Father’s Last Wish” featuring Dylan Menor, and “3 Queens and a Baby” with Christian Bables. These productions are part of the Cignal Originals lineup, launched alongside a curated selection of international titles from Dashflix.
According to Cignal, the new offering reflects its broader effort to explore alternative content formats and respond to the evolving preferences of Filipino audiences, particularly younger viewers accustomed to consuming content on mobile devices.
Viewers can stream the first five episodes of each title for free via the Cignal Play app. Full access is available through a daily subscription priced at ₱20.
The microdramas are available exclusively on mobile platforms and are not currently offered on other screens or devices.
