The Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said it is prepared to arrest any high-ranking government officials once a court issues a warrant.

According to a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, this comes following a large rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), which expressed support for Sen. Rodante Marcoleta amid a possible plunder case filed by the Office of the Ombudsman over an alleged ₱75-million donation during his tenure as a congressman before his 2025 Senate bid.

CIDG NCR Director Police Colonel John Guiagui said that authorities have yet to receive any new warrants of arrest against government officials amid speculation that courts may soon issue such orders.

“As of now, wala namang natatanggap na warrant of arrest for any high-ranking officials right now,” Guiagu said in an interview at Camp Crame.

However, he stressed that the CIDG is fully prepared to act once legal orders are released.

He added, “But again, mandate ito ng CIDG na sakali man na mayroon, just like the previous cases ready po ang CIDG to implement and serve any warrant that will be given by the court.”

On July 2, members of the INC held a protest action in parts of Quezon City and Manila, calling for support for Marcoleta as he faces an impending case.
