The Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has filed complaints against at least 97 "persons of interest" linked to the violent incidents that erupted during the September 21 anti-corruption rallies in Manila, RH Edniel Parrosa reported.

In a press conference, CIDG Director MGen. Robert Alexander Morico announced that the cases, which include "conspiracy and proposal to commit rebellion or insurrection, inciting to sedition, and other cases, have been referred to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

"The instigators, including yung mga nagfu-fund and those who are behind the planning. Ongoing yung investigation namin. We assure you that wala pong sisinuhin," Morico said.

Among the persons of interest are the instigators themselves who were involved in the assaults and destruction of property in Recto and Mendiola, Manila.

Morico added that the complaints were filed last Tuesday and that additional individuals involved in the unrest are expected to be charged in the coming days.

In the same press briefing, PNP Acting Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said police units are already preparing for possible large-scale protests on November 30, coinciding with the 162nd birth anniversary of national hero Andres Bonifacio.

The preparations come after President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. expressed concern over the violence that marred the September rallies, which left several protesters and police officers injured.

The November 30 demonstrations, reportedly part of a new wave of the “Trillion Peso March” anti-corruption protests, are expected to draw significant crowds, similar to those seen in September.
