The trough of Super Typhoon Choi-Wan is expected to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Monday, according to PAGASA.
In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said Mindanao, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Leyte and Southern Leyte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of Choi-Wan.
The weather bureau warned that moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
As of 3 a.m., Super Typhoon Choi-Wan (2627) was located 2,605 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near the center, with gustiness of up to 240 kilometers per hour, and was moving northward at 20 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA continues to monitor Choi-Wan and advised the public to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and advisories.
