A Chinese national was shot by a fellow Chinese national inside Prime Luck Casino, located at the corner of Sabino Padilla Street and Ongpin Street in Binondo, Manila, early Monday morning, June 17.
According to a report from the Manila Police District (MPD) Binondo Station, the shooting incident occurred at around 12:55 AM.
The male victim has been identified as Guihai I Fan, 56, currently residing at 208 Sevilla Street, Caloocan City.
A witness, who works as a security guard at the casino, told the police that the victim entered the premises and, upon seeing the suspect inside, immediately approached and slapped him.
"The suspect drew an unidentified firearm, leading to a physical altercation between the two," stated in the police report.
During the scuffle, the suspect fired the weapon, hitting the victim in the stomach.
Upon the arrival of Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU), they found the victim lying on the floor, with blood visibly oozing from his abdominal area.
The responding officers immediately rushed the victim to Metropolitan Hospital for medical attention.
The victim is currently being prepared for surgery.
Police are still conducting a follow-up operation and further investigation for the possible apprehension of the suspect.
