BEIJING, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Liu Shaoyong, former chairman of China Eastern Airlines, was sentenced to 14 years in prison over bribery, China's state television CCTV reported Tuesday.
A court in the city of Shenyang found that Liu accepted more than 67.5 million yuan ($10.12 million) in bribes between 2002 and 2023, using positions at China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines to help companies and individuals secure business opportunities, project contracts and route-related approvals.
CCTV said Liu pleaded guilty and expressed remorse in court during his trial in July.
