Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson on Friday said he is prepared to reveal a “big personality” allegedly involved in anomalies surrounding flood control projects, should he be invited to testify before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
In an interview, Singson disclosed that he is ready to identify those responsible for the controversial projects but prefers to do so during an official Senate hearing to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation.
He declined to clarify whether the individual he referred to is a senator, congressman, or local official, emphasizing that the identities will be revealed in the proper forum.
The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, however, has postponed its scheduled April 14 hearing on the matter. According to the panel, it is still awaiting Singson’s sworn affidavit and the signatures of at least five members for its partial report.
Singson clarified that he had no role in the postponement. He said he was already prepared to appear on April 7, but was informed the following day that the hearing would no longer push through.
The former governor reiterated his willingness to cooperate with the investigation, stressing his intent to help hold accountable those behind the alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
