The chartered flight carrying over 300 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) landed at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City on Monday afternoon, according to a report by RH 27 Noche Cacas.

Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said in an interview that this was the government’s ninth chartered flight and the seventh to come from the UAE.

A total of 342 Filipinos were repatriated in this batch, said the agency in a statement.

“Umakyat na sa 5,400 ang napauwi nating mga OFWs o OFW families. This continues to be a live count dahil mayro’n pa ring nagnanais na umuwi at patuloy ngayon ang whole-of-government services na binibigay sa kanila, which includes, nandito ang DOH (Department of Health), nandito ang DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development), of course, ang OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration)... And the Office of the President,” Cacdac said in a live update to DZRH.

According to the agency’s statement, the Filipinos who have returned home include 255 OFWs and 87 relatives. They arrived around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Overall, 4,234 OFWs and 1,170 of their relatives have been successfully brought back to the Philippines, the agency said, adding that the OFWs will receive financial assistance, medical assessment, temporary lodging, and transportation fare to travel back to their respective provinces.
