Ahead of the launch of his WHATEVER’S CLEVER! WORLD TOUR next month, Charlie Puth has dropped his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, under Atlantic Records.

The release signals a more personal direction for the artist as he prepares to reconnect with audiences on a global stage.

Reflecting on the project, Puth shared, “I had to take a closer look at myself to make this record and sing about things I normally wouldn’t sing about. Audiences knew my music more than they knew me because I never really gave them a chance to know me. This is the chance.”

The album highlights his intent to reveal more of himself through his music.

The album also features notable collaborations. He performed the R&B-inspired single “Sideways” with Coco Jones on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while “Love In Exile” brings together Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins for a nostalgic, yacht rock-influenced track. Meanwhile, “Until It Happens To You” includes a spoken word piece from Jeff Goldblum, adding emotional depth.

More introspective moments appear in tracks like “Hey Brother,” where Puth addresses his sibling, and throughout the album’s themes of love, family, and personal growth. Describing the project as a return to his authentic self, Puth emphasizes that these songs reflect real experiences.

The tour begins April 22 in San Diego, with European dates set for June and July.
