During a press briefing on Wednesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) emphasized that search and rescue efforts remain a top priority.
Teams are operating within the "golden hour" of 24 hours following the disaster, attending to reports of residents trapped under debris.
Under the directive of President Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos Jr., the OCD is focused on restoring power and ensuring the safety of main roads, while the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) expedites assessments of schools, hospitals, and infrastructure.
Uniformed services including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) are fully mobilized.
Immediate relief, including pre-packed food and emergency supplies, is being provided to affected communities as authorities continue to coordinate rescue and recovery operations.
