Senator Alan Peter Cayetano alleged that Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, a former chair of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, had allegedly colluded with the administration to protect members of the then-majority and shape investigations against certain senators.
In a Facebook Live session on Saturday, Cayetano claimed that Lacson used committee hearings to “protect” the then-majority bloc.
Regardless kung may zero truth, partial truth whatever… and then may mga pinagtakpan from masterminds [to] lower,” Cayetano alleged.
He further claimed that this alleged arrangement led him to realize that charges involving senators in the flood control scandal were “negotiable.”
Cayetano added that Lacson had suggested that the testimony of a witness in the probe was not credible and that discussions with those in charge were necessary.
As of writing, Sen. Lacson has not issued any statement addressing the allegations.
