Senator Alan Peter Cayetano accused Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson of acting as an “all-around” authority in dealing with government agencies involved in the investigation into alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

Cayetano made the accusation amid the continuing exchange between the two senators over the flood control issue, following what he described as a reversal by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon on his earlier statement that there were no ghost projects in Taguig.

According to Cayetano, Lacson had been dictating to several government agencies regarding the issue.

“Si Senator Lacson kasi ano na eh, Chief Justice Lacson, Prosecutor Lacson, DOJ Lacson, Persecutor Lacson, siya na lahat. Siya na nagdidikta eh. Siya na nagdidikta sa LLDA (Laguna Lake Development Authority), Blue Ribbon Committee, DILG, PRA,” Cayetano said.

“So kahit sila na mismo nagsabi, babaguhin niya, sila naman magbabago,” he added.

The two senators also exchanged statements over Lacson’s alleged role in the process of investigating the flood control projects and the actions of government agencies involved.

In response to Cayetano’s remarks, Lacson said he would consider the statements a compliment if they came from someone he considered credible.

“If this were coming from someone credible, I’d take it as a compliment,” Lacson said.
