Catigbian Mayor Benjie Oliva on Wednesday, August 19, ordered an investigation into an alleged social media post threatening Haguilanan High School and other schools in Balilihan, Bohol.
Oliva said police personnel have been deployed to affected areas as the Philippine National Police Cybercrime Unit investigates the post and works to identify the person behind the threat.
The mayor said he learned about the post Tuesday night through a teacher from Haguilanan High School and immediately coordinated with Catigbian police chief Police Maj. Jesus Dallin Jr.
Police personnel were deployed to Haguilanan High School Wednesday morning, according to Oliva.
Oliva also offered a ₱100,000 reward for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
“I will not tolerate these things,” Oliva said, adding that authorities in Catigbian have been working to identify and apprehend those responsible for such threats.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities verify the authenticity and source of the social media post.
