Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro on Tuesday said Cassandra Li Ong—who is facing human trafficking charges—remains in the Philippines, according to information relayed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
During a press briefing with the Malacañang Press Corps on Tuesday, December 2, Castro said authorities have confirmed through existing records that Ong has not left the country and continues to evade arrest.
She appealed to the public to report any sightings of Ong to law enforcement agencies to help facilitate the service of the warrant.
When asked whether the Palace would also encourage the public to take photos of Ong if she is spotted—similar to the DILG’s call regarding fugitive Zaldy Co—Castro said any form of assistance from citizens would be helpful.
