Four caskets bearing anti-Chinese government messages were found in different parts of Metro Manila early Friday, August 7.

The local barangay said one of the caskets was discovered at around 3 a.m. at the Boy Scout Circle rotunda along Timog Avenue in Quezon City after receiving a report from a concerned citizen, according to a report by RH Val Gonzales on DZRH's Dos Por Dos.

It contained photographs of two unidentified individuals and a poster that read, “Chinese Communist Party, Greedy, Salot.” A red flag bearing the words “Chinese community” was also placed on the casket.

Barangay officials said CCTV footage showed two men and one woman arriving in a white van before leaving the casket at the site. Authorities have yet to identify the individuals involved or determine their motive.

The casket was immediately removed by authorities.

Similar caskets were also found in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City, Caloocan City, and Manila. Bomb squad personnel inspected the casket in Makati as a precaution before it was cleared by authorities.

Police are investigating whether the four incidents were coordinated and are reviewing available CCTV footage and other evidence to identify those responsible.

As of Friday morning, authorities had yet to release further details on the incidents or any possible suspects.
