Authorities arrested a 25-year-old suspect in a carnapping and fencing case during a follow-up and entrapment operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Barangay Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan, on the afternoon of Sunday, April 26.
According to a report from PLTCOL Nelson M. Sardin, Chief of Pani Municipal Police Station, the suspect—an online seller and resident of Barangay Bambang, Bulakan—was apprehended after police traced a stolen motorcycle reported earlier by a 40-year-old complainant from Barangay Cupang, Pandi.
Investigators said the Pandi Municipal Police Station immediately launched a follow-up operation after receiving the carnapping report, which led to the suspect’s arrest and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
The motorcycle, a black Suzuki Skydrive bearing plate number 645TZD, was confirmed to be registered under the victim’s name.
While the motorcycle was accompanied by documents of sale, authorities determined that it was linked to the earlier reported carnapping incident, indicating possible involvement in illegal fencing activities.
The suspect is now under police custody at the Pandi Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. Charges are being prepared for violations of Presidential Decree No. 1612 and Republic Act No. 10883.
Meanwhile, the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of Jay B. Baybayan, reaffirmed its intensified campaign against vehicle theft and related crimes in the province.
