Capital1 Solar Spikers have strengthened their lineup ahead of the Premier Volleyball League’s return, securing the additions of reigning PVL Most Valuable Player Vanie Gandler, Erika Santos, and veteran setter Jaja Maraguinot.
The franchise announced the new acquisitions on Thursday as part of its preparations for the upcoming PVL season, signaling a deeper push to become a title contender.
Gandler said her decision to join Capital One was driven by the organization’s clear direction and its treatment of players.
She noted the team’s steady rise in the league over the past two years and expressed belief in its long-term potential. Gandler also said she wanted to be part of a squad that is building its own identity rather than simply filling roster gaps.
Gandler and Santos previously played key roles for Signal, which reached the finals in the last conference. Gandler was named MVP, while Santos earned MVP honors in the PVL on Tour during the previous season.
Maraguinot, who joined from Nxled, is expected to bring experience and stability to Capital One’s playmaking unit.
Capital One franchise player Bella Belen also played a role in the recruitment process, according to the team. Belen reportedly reached out to several players during the All-Star event to share the team’s vision and long-term plans.
The PVL is expected to return in July with the start of the PVL on Tour.
