

Several flights to and from Siargao were canceled on Tuesday, March 10, due to adverse weather conditions, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced.
The agency said that about 1,140 passengers were affected on Monday, March 9, due to the flight cancellations, leaving passengers stranded at Siargao Airport. At least 25 travelers were also accommodated at the airport’s pre-departure area.

Flight cancellations were attributed to unfavorable weather conditions associated with the low pressure area (LPA), now Tropical Depression Caloy. The PAGASA said it would affect parts of Mindanao, compounded by the northeast monsoon.
“Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for updates on flight schedules, rebooking arrangements, and other travel assistance, as flight operations will resume once weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe to proceed,” the CAAP highlighted.
