Caloocan City 3rd District Representative Dean Asistio strongly denied the allegations made against him by the Discaya couple during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Monday, September 8.

Asistio firmly denied in his Facebook post the allegation that he received any amount of money from the Discaya couple.

He also emphasized that there are no ghost projects in his district and stood by the integrity of his office and its projects.

“Mariin nating itinatanggi ang alegsayon na tayo po ay tumatanggap ng anumang halaga ng pera mula sa mag-asawang Discaya. Walang ghost projects sa distritong aking nasasakupan,” he said.

This comes after Curlee and Sarah Discaya revealed that several officials allegedly demanded 10–25% commissions from them, given in cash, of which Asistio was among the names mentioned.

According to Asistio, the data from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) confirms that the Discayas had projects located within his district. However, he clarified that the DPWH has sole authority over the execution of these projects, including the assessment and awarding of contracts, which are carried out through the public bidding process.

Moreover, vowed to hold the Discaya couple accountable, “Sinisigurado ko na pananagutin ko ang mag-asawang Discaya sa kanilang mapanira at malisyosong mga paratang.”

“Mr. at Mrs. Discaya, magkikita tayo sa Korte!” Asistio stated.
