Caloocan City has named Councilor Arnold T. Divina as the new head of the People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB), local officials said in an announcement on Wednesday, June 10.
The PLEB is a civilian body tasked with receiving, hearing, and resolving administrative complaints against members of the Philippine National Police (PNP). It also serves as a mechanism to promote accountability and strengthen public trust in law enforcement.
City officials welcomed Divina’s appointment, citing his experience in public service and expressing confidence in his ability to help advance the board’s mandate of ensuring discipline and professionalism within the police force.
Divina, who remains a member of the Caloocan City Council, is expected to work with other board members in handling complaints and administrative cases filed before the PLEB.
In a social media post, he thanked the city leadership for the appointment, saying, “Balik serbisyo publiko! Salamat po sa muling pagtitiwala, Mayor Along Malapitan!”
