A fire struck a commercial site at the Monumento Circle in Caloocan on Thursday afternoon.

In a 1:10 p.m. report, firefighters had arrived at the scene and were putting out the fire, which had been raised to the second alarm.

RH 23 Edwin Duque noted that the incident caused traffic congestion. Traffic along the southbound lane of MacArthur Highway, all the way from Valenzuela City, had barely progressed.

As of 1:25 p.m., the blaze has been declared under control, according to Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Caloocan City Fire Marshal FSput. Jacky Ngina.

Ngina said no firefighter was injured. However, a fire volunteer experienced difficulty breathing due to the smoke and was treated. Two others were wounded, and another became nauseated, reported Duque.

The fire was completely extinguished only a minute later, at 1:26 p.m.
