A night of celebration, empowerment, and advocacy culminated in the crowning of Drei Arias of Bulacan as Mr. Gay World Philippines 2026, following a glittering coronation that recognized outstanding LGBTQIA+ leaders committed to promoting inclusion, authenticity, and social change that took place in Crossroads Center in Quezon City on June 26.

Arias emerged victorious after impressing the judges with his confidence, intelligence, and compelling advocacy, earning the country's top title in one of the nation's premier LGBTQIA+ pageants.

Joining this year's roster of winners were Lourd Ryan Ramos of Makati City and Mark Anthony Fuentes Bacongan of Malabon City, who were both named Mr. Gay World All Stars Philippines 2026. Completing the winners' circle were Juan Miguel Lago of Sta. Ana, Manila as 1st Runner-Up and Jamil Guillera of Leyte as 2nd Runner-Up.

The defining moment of the competition came during the final question-and-answer round, where Arias was asked how LGBTQIA+ advocates can build bridges with people who hold different beliefs while remaining true to their identity.

In his winning response, Arias emphasized that genuine understanding begins with respect and authenticity.

"Bridges are built through understanding, respect, and the courage to live authentically."

He explained that embracing one's identity does not require rejecting those with opposing beliefs, encouraging people instead to lead conversations with compassion, honesty, and empathy to foster greater acceptance.

Earlier in the competition, Arias shared his deeply personal journey, revealing that he spent years concealing his true identity in order to secure work opportunities and provide for his family.

"For years, I have denied myself. Maraming taon na dini-nay ko 'yung sarili ko para sa sarili kong kapakanan, para magkaroon ng maraming projects, ng maraming trabaho dahil kailangan kong buhayin ang pamilya ko."

Reflecting on those experiences, Arias reminded the audience that enduring hardship should never be a source of shame.

"There's no shame in surviving."

He added that ultimately choosing to come out became an act of courage—not only for himself but also for others who continue to struggle for acceptance.

"And how can I stay true to myself? I just come out."

Arias concluded his message by honoring members of the LGBTQIA+ community who have lost their lives due to discrimination and violence, calling on society to remember their stories and continue advocating for equality, dignity, and inclusion.

His heartfelt message resonated throughout the competition, highlighting the evolving role of pageant titleholders as advocates who use their platforms to address important social issues and inspire meaningful change.
