The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) conducted a ceremonial destruction of confiscated open pipes and modified mufflers on January 15, 2026, at Camp General Alejo S. Santos in Malolos City, highlighting intensified efforts against noise pollution.
Led by Provincial Director PCOL Angel L. Garcillano, the activity was joined by Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando, force commanders of the Provincial Mobile Force Companies, and chiefs of police from various Bulacan municipalities.
A total of 1,654 improvised mufflers seized from police operations across the province were destroyed, reinforcing the enforcement of traffic, environmental, and public safety laws.
Governor Fernando stressed that the crackdown on illegal mufflers aims to protect public health, safety, and community welfare, not just traffic order.
PCOL Garcillano said regular inspections and operations will continue to curb the use and sale of illegal mufflers, which are major contributors to noise pollution.
During the ceremony, Certificates of Commendation were awarded to police chiefs from Norzagaray, Santa Maria, San Jose del Monte, Plaridel, and Pandi for their sustained anti-noise and clean air initiatives.
