K-Pop sensation BTS has unveiled an animated trailer and their first official group photo ahead of their highly anticipated new album, Arirang, set for release on March 20.

The trailer, inspired by the iconic Korean folk song “Arirang,” draws on the story of seven young Koreans documented in The Washington Post on May 8, 1896. Some of these individuals also captured the first-known audio recordings of Koreans in Washington, D.C., on July 24 of that year.

"As a modern reimagining, this work draws upon the profound cultural significance of these historical records, which preserve the authentic voices of young Korean men and the first-ever recording of 'Arirang,” said in the video.

“What is your love song?” the video asks.

Alongside the trailer, BTS released the album cover art on their official 2026 website, featuring members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook dressed in suits and ties, presenting a sleek and unified image of the group.

Arirang marks BTS’s first group album since 2022. The album’s title pays homage to the traditional Korean folk song, often described as the country’s unofficial anthem.

To celebrate the release, BTS will host a city-wide comeback event in Seoul, titled BTS The City Arirang Seoul, which will offer immersive experiences for fans and is expected to expand to other global cities.

The group is set to make their stage comeback on March 21 with a performance at the historic Gwanghwamun in Seoul, which will be streamed live on Netflix.

In April, BTS will kick off their Arirang world tour, with the first two shows being broadcast in cinemas around the globe. In the Philippines, their tour stop is scheduled for 2027.
