DZRH broadcaster Andres Ayroso Verde, better known as Andy Verde on the airwaves, has passed at the age of 70 on Monday, September 15.

According to his family, Verde died of chronic kidney disease. He had been undergoing dialysis in the weeks leading up to his death and passed away at around 3:15 a.m.

Verde will be laid to rest on September 18, at 9:00 a.m., at the Eternal Gardens in Cabanatuan City.

The “Midnight King” was a veteran radio reporter and personality for DZRH from the 1990’s until his retirement in February this year.

His programs include “LOVECHAT” alongside Ruth Abao, “DZRH Short Time” with Kisses Jabson, “DZRH with Love,” and “Balitang Promdi,” also with Kisses Jabson—the latter two being his most popular programs.

Verde also previously led DZRH Operation Tulong, the radio’s civic responsibility arm, before Mae Binauhan.
