The Philippines will field a strong team at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland, from March 20 to 22.
Leading the charge is pole vaulter EJ Obiena, who shared his excitement on social media after securing a spot among the world’s top twelve vaulters.
“Making this championship is a small step on the long road back. Brick by brick, inch by inch we build, and if I must crawl, so be it!!!” Obiena wrote in his social media post.
Joining Obiena are hurdler John Cabang Tolentino, competing in the 60-meter hurdles, and sprinters Jessica Laurance and Zion Corrales Nelson, both in the 60 meters.
After a challenging season, Obiena looks to make a strong statement on the international stage, while the entire squad aims to showcase Filipino talent among the world’s best.
