House prosecution spokesperson Robert "Ace" Barbers said both members of the House prosecution team and private prosecutors may handle the cross-examination of witnesses when the impeachment trial resumes on November 9.
During a prosecution press conference on Wednesday, Barbers said the assignment would depend on the witnesses presented by the defense before the Senate impeachment court.
In response to a question from DZRH's Milky Rigonan, Barbers said prosecutors have already been designated and are preparing for the upcoming proceedings.
"Depende siguro kung sino yung mga ilalabas munang witnesses doon sa stand. Meron pong mga nakatoka na diyan. Pinag-aaralan at pinaghahandaan po nila 'yan ng aming mga prosecutors. So, whoever sits in the witness stand, merong naka-assign na prosecutors," Barbers said.
Asked whether the cross-examination would be handled by the House prosecution team or private prosecutors, Barbers clarified that either group could take on the task.
"It could be both. It could either be from the public or the private," he added.
The Senate impeachment court is scheduled to resume proceedings on November 9, with the defense expected to present its witnesses.
