Bonuan Buquig National High School located at Dagupan City wins ‘World’s Best School Prize for Environmental Action’ organized by Global Organization T4 Education.

The school was chosen because of the community’s efforts of environmental care, especially the mangroves surrounding the area.

In 2009, Bagyong Pepeng affected the community’s mangroves resulting in its destruction, since then the people have been making an effort to restore the damaged mangroves.

Bonuan Buquig’s Adopt-A-River project was the entry for the competition out of the 1000 entries in the whole world.

International School of Zug and Luzern in Switzerland and Green School of Bali in Indonesia were the other candidates for the same category.

Last Wednesday, T4 announced the winners of the prizes via live streaming on their Facebook page.

T4 Education is a digital media platform with an aim to collaborate, support and promote good practices of educators from around the world.
