Authorities in Iloilo City and Iloilo Province were on high alert after a series of bomb threats targeted multiple schools on Monday.

Four institutions including Iloilo National High School, West Visayas State University (WVSU) Main Campus, Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) La Paz Campus, and WVSU Calinog reported receiving threats through their official social media pages.

Classes and office operations were immediately suspended as safety protocols were activated. Explosive ordnance disposal teams and canine units swept the campuses and later declared all sites clear, finding no explosive devices.

Aksyon Radyo Jocelyn Maque reports that the incident follows a similar scare last week, when several schools in Iloilo also received bomb threats. In response, Mayor Raisa Treñas has directed the Iloilo City Police Office to intensify its investigation and identify the source of the threats, stressing the need to protect students and educational institutions.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation while urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
