Classes in four schools in Mandaluyong City were disrupted by bomb threats on Friday morning, July 17.

The schools mentioned in a bomb threat circulating on social media were Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School (ERIS), Mandaluyong High School, Mandaluyong Elementary School, and Highway Hills Integrated School, according to a report on DZRH's Damdaming Bayan by RH Edniel Parrosa.

Mandaluyong Elementary School was the first to be cleared after a K-9 unit from the Mandaluyong City Police Office conducted an inspection past midnight on Thursday and found no explosives.

Police personnel later inspected Mandaluyong High School along Aglipay Street, which was also declared negative for any bomb-related threat.

To ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel, face-to-face classes were suspended on Friday, July 17, in the affected schools. However, asynchronous classes continued as an alternative learning arrangement.

According to Mandaluyong City Police Chief PCol. Reynan Patam, the bomb threat began circulating on social media Thursday night, July 16. Authorities immediately responded and conducted security assessments, with all inspected schools later declared clear.

The messages circulating online contained threats allegedly made by individuals claiming to be members of different groups opposing the government.

The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) earlier emphasized that they take all threats involving the safety of students, teachers, and learning institutions seriously.
