A bomb threat reported at a private educational institution in Camarines Norte on the morning of February 18, prompted the immediate evacuation of students and staff, suspension of classes, and heightened security operations by authorities.
According to initial reports, a handwritten note was discovered around 8:30 a.m. inside a female restroom, claiming that an explosive device had been placed on the fourth floor of the high school building. The note also demanded ₱3 million in exchange for not detonating the alleged bomb and threatened possible violence and kidnapping if the demand was ignored.
As a precautionary measure, school officials swiftly ordered an orderly evacuation and suspended classes and work to ensure the safety of the school community. Responding units from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Daet Central Fire Station, and Special Rescue Force immediately conducted a thorough inspection of the premises.
In a related development, Camarines Norte State College issued Administrative Memorandum No. 25, s. 2026, announcing the immediate suspension of face-to-face classes and afternoon work across all campuses due to the unverified bomb threat received by the college administration earlier that day. The memorandum, signed by SUC President Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, DPA, stated that all afternoon classes would shift to asynchronous learning, while office work was suspended effective 12:00 noon.
The advisory further directed all individuals on campus to vacate the premises in an orderly manner while joint teams from the PNP, the CNSC Security Unit, and other authorities conducted a comprehensive sweep and inspection of facilities. College officials noted that regular operations and classes are expected to resume on February 19, 2026, pending further advisories.
By 11:15 a.m., the EOD team declared the inspected buildings safe, confirming that no explosive devices were found. Authorities are now conducting a full investigation to identify the individual responsible for the bomb threat, while school administrators assured the public that security measures would be further strengthened to prevent similar incidents.
