The Bureau of Customs (BOC) submitted reports to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Tuesday to support the ongoing investigation into the anomalous flood control projects.
The action was prompted after the BOC ordered the seizure of 13 luxury vehicles owned by contractor couple Pacifico “Curlee” and Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya, who are linked to a controversy. The agency found irregularities in the importation documents, providing sufficient grounds to confiscate the vehicles.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, who requested a meeting with the ICI, emphasized that the submission reflects the agency’s proactive efforts to uphold transparency and accountability in both enforcement and administrative operations.
The documents submitted include reports on past enforcement actions, copies of Search Warrants and Warrants of Seizure and Detention (WSD), lists of import-related papers, and updates on the progress of the investigation.
Nepomuceno expressed its full support for the Commission’s efforts to uncover the truth in all ongoing investigations. The agency emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates its ongoing commitment to transparency and cooperation with government oversight bodies.
The Commissioner also instructed all concerned offices within the agency to fully cooperate with the ICI and other investigative bodies to ensure a thorough and impartial review based on evidence.
He emphasized that under the leadership of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., the agency remains committed to integrity and good governance by enhancing inter-agency coordination to promote transparency and build public trust.
