The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is set to issue a warrant for the seizure of the reportedly misdeclared supercar voluntarily surrendered by actor Derek Ramsay.

“Ito ay talagang iisyuhan namin ngayong araw na ito ng warrant of seizure and detention. Ibig sabihin, ito ay papasok sa isang proseso na ito ay magiging pagmamay-ari na ng pamahalaan,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said during a Monday press briefing.

Furthermore, once Ramsay’s supercar undergoes detention and seizure proceedings, it will be auctioned off instead of destroyed or donated, announced the bureau chief.

Initially, Ramsay’s luxury vehicle was flagged for allegedly using a fake license plate while traveling along EDSA, Land Transportation Office (LTO) Assistant Secretary Marcus Lacanilao told DZRH on Dos Por Dos.

During the subsequent probe, the LTO had sought the assistance of the BOC to review the vehicle’s records.

According to Customs records, the first entry filed in September 2021 declared the vehicle a brand new Porsche Boxster—valued at ₱3.26 million—despite the Certificate of Payment and initial LTO registration specifying it as a Porsche 918 Spyder—which costs around ₱48.02 million.

The Porsche, turned over to the LTO on August 17, was promptly impounded.

Ramsay appeared before the agency, submitted a Verified Answer, and surrendered his driver’s license, which has been placed under a 90-day preventive suspension.

Moreover, both the actor’s license and the Porsche have been placed under alarm status until case resolution.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa LTO, sa pangunguna ni Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, for their prompt action and close coordination with the Bureau. Their cooperation enabled us to immediately verify the relevant Customs records and take the appropriate next steps,” Nepomuceno said in a statement released on Monday.
