The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has assumed full custody of eight high-value vehicles worth approximately ₱143 million after the closure of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
The luxury units were originally seized on January 8, 2026, during an operation in Taguig City for alleged violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
The vehicles were initially secured at an ICI facility in Bonifacio Global City due to limited space at the Port of Manila, under a warrant of seizure and detention.
Despite being stored offsite, the BOC maintained control through assigned personnel, with additional security provided by the Philippine Coast Guard.
Following the disposal of previously seized vehicles through auctions, the BOC freed up space at the Port of Manila, allowing the transfer of the units to a government-controlled facility.
The agency also filed the necessary court manifestations to ensure compliance with legal procedures before the transfer.
BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno assured that all confiscated assets remain under strict government custody and are being managed in accordance with the law, reinforcing the bureau’s commitment to transparency and enforcement.
