

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported collecting PhP 80.774 billion in January 2026, exceeding its target by PhP 513 million, according to Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
During the same period, BOC said it conducted operations against smuggling, resulting in 66 arrests and the seizure of PhP 886.8 million worth of contraband.
The confiscated items included illegal drugs valued at over PhP 309 million, cigarettes and tobacco products worth more than PhP 209 million, vehicles, ships, and electronic products
The bureau noted that these operations involved coordination with other agencies, including the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
BOC stated it plans to continue implementing intelligence-based operations throughout 2026.
