

The Bureau of Customs–Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) intercepted eight inbound parcels containing illegal drugs with a total estimated street value of over ₱3.7 million.
According to the agencuy, the parcels were seized at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City on January 22, 2026, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
Declared as common consumer items such as clothing, dog food, and board games, the shipments were found during inspection to contain a total of 2.48 kilograms of dried marijuana (kush) concealed inside. The seized drugs were immediately turned over to PDEA for proper disposition.
BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno said the operation highlights the Bureau’s continued vigilance to prevent the postal system from being used to smuggle illegal drugs into the country.
Meanwhile, BOC-NAIA District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa stressed the importance of close coordination among agencies in combatting drug syndicates.
The Bureau clarified that the incident constitutes a violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, specifically provisions on misdeclaration, unlawful importation and exportation, and regulated importation and exportation.
