The Philippines’ Blu Boys stamped their authority once more on the Southeast Asian softball stage, overpowering Singapore, 3–0, to secure their ninth gold medal at the SEA Games on Wednesday at the Queen Sirikit Baseball Stadium in Pathum Thani.

Setting the tone early, the Blu Boys drew first blood in the opening inning before breaking the game open with two more runs in the fourth. From there, it was a showcase of discipline and composure—sharp pitching, airtight defense, and timely hitting combining to shut the door on Singapore’s title defense.

The shutout victory carried extra meaning. It was against the same Singapore side that dethroned the Blu Boys on Philippine soil during the 2019 SEA Games in Clark. This time, however, there was no room for doubt as the Filipinos delivered a masterclass performance to reclaim regional supremacy.

With the triumph, the Blu Boys further cemented their legacy as the undisputed kings of ASEAN softball, amassing an astounding nine gold medals in 11 SEA Games appearances since the sport’s inclusion.
