A Philippine Air Force (PAF) Black Hawk helicopter made an emergency landing in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte, on Wednesday afternoon, November 5, after experiencing engine trouble during a mission.
According to a report by Edniel Parrosa, the Black Hawk was conducting a rapid damage assessment operation when one of its two engines showed “fluctuating temperature readings,” prompting the pilot to perform a precautionary or emergency landing.
In a statement, the Air Force confirmed that all crew members and passengers aboard the helicopter were safe. Local authorities immediately responded to assist them.
The PAF has also deployed a maintenance and investigation team to examine the aircraft’s condition and determine the cause of the technical issue.
Meanwhile, provincial reporter Jimmy Angay-angay said the Police Regional Office 8 reported that the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in a rice field in St. Bernard. Police personnel quickly responded to the site to secure the area.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
