Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases “Mans” Carpio, had a combined total net income after tax worth ₱85,343,803.23 from 2007 to 2025, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Office of the Commissioner Chief of Staff Atty. Anne Loraine Garcia-Marquez said on Thursday.
On Day 36 of Duterte’s impeachment trial, Marquez presented the couple’s official tax records before the Senate impeachment court as part of the prosecution’s presentation of evidence in Article II of the impeachment case, which involves alleged unexplained wealth.
According to the BIR records, the couple’s total net income after tax over the 18-year period reached ₱85.34 million.
“Based po dito sa summary ang total po is ₱85,343,803.23,“ Marquez said.
She explained that net income after tax refers to a taxpayer’s income after deducting applicable expenses, deductions, and taxes due.
“Yung income net of tax pertains to lahat nung mga income or kita ng isang tao and then less ‘yung mga deductions or expenses at dineduct na rin dito ‘yung taxes due ng isang taxpayer,” Marquez said.
Meanwhile, Duterte’s 2025 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) showed a net worth of ₱98.66 million.
Prosecutors are presenting the BIR records to the impeachment court as they examine the couple’s reported income and Duterte’s declared wealth in relation to the allegations under Article II.
