The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadlines for filing tax returns and paying taxes without penalties for taxpayers affected by widespread rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat.
Under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 89, tax filing and payment deadlines falling from Aug. 10 to 16 have been moved to Monday, Aug. 17, giving affected taxpayers additional time to comply with their tax obligations.
