Authorities seized more than 11,000 illegal vape products in a series of coordinated operations conducted across Metro Manila and nearby provinces, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said.

According to the BIR, a total of 11,309 vape products were confiscated during simultaneous raids in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna. The agency estimated that the seized items correspond to over ₱33 million in unpaid taxes.

The operations were carried out in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) as part of the government’s intensified crackdown on establishments selling untaxed vape products.

“In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen tax compliance and protect government revenues, the Bureau will continue to conduct coordinated enforcement actions against businesses that evade their tax obligations,” said BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza.

Authorities targeted several businesses suspected of distributing and selling vape products that had not undergone proper tax payment and documentation required by law.

The BIR warned that businesses found selling illegal vape products may face seizure of goods, tax assessments, and possible administrative and criminal charges.

The agency also urged the public to help authorities by reporting establishments involved in the sale of untaxed or illegally distributed products.

BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza said the agency will continue its enforcement operations against the illegal vape trade to protect government revenues.

“Those engaged in the illegal sale of untaxed vapor products should expect decisive enforcement action from the Bureau,” the Commissioner concluded
