The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has placed its personnel on heightened alert for Senator Ronald dela Rosa following reports of potential travel restrictions linked to an existing Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order.
BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval, in a DZRH News interview, said the senator has no recorded departure from the Philippines. However, she stressed that immigration officers at all ports remain directed to immediately coordinate with relevant government agencies should he be sighted attempting to leave the country.
Sandoval also confirmed that dela Rosa remains covered by a Lookout Bulletin Order issued by the Department of Justice on May 14, keeping him subject to close monitoring.
Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation has yet to issue a formal update on the implementation of directives related to the reported International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant, despite earlier statements indicating readiness for possible operations.
NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag is currently in Legazpi City for the inauguration of the NBI Academy and inspection of the bureau’s new facility in the Bicol Region. Earlier, NBI spokesperson Palmer Mallari said the agency is prepared to carry out any necessary enforcement actions.
As of press time, no further official confirmation has been released regarding active movements related to the case.
