The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday confirmed that former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco has left the Philippines.

In a media statement, the BI said its records showed that Velasco had no existing Hold Departure Order or derogatory alert that would have prevented him from leaving the country.

“The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirms that former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco is currently out of the country,” the agency said.

The BI said it could not disclose further details about Velasco’s immigration records due to data privacy concerns.

The bureau added that it remains committed to enforcing immigration laws and policies while protecting the confidentiality of personal information.

The confirmation came after National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag earlier told DZRH that Velasco had already left the country on August 30.
