The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will deploy 24,106 personnel nationwide for Undas 2026 and place its forces under full alert from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 to ensure public safety during All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Under Oplan Kaluluwa 2026, the BFP will implement Code Blue, or heightened alert status, from Oct. 28 to 29 before shifting to Code Red, or full alert status, the BFP said in a statement on Friday, October 23.
The deployment aims to address potential risks, including large crowds at cemeteries, heavy traffic at transport terminals, and fires in homes left unattended during the holidays.
The BFP will mobilize 16,301 fire suppression personnel, 3,109 emergency medical services personnel, 1,187 rescue personnel and 3,373 fire safety inspectors.
It will also position 2,245 fire trucks, 371 ambulances and 260 motorcycles at major roads and public gathering areas. Inspection teams will check safety compliance at cemeteries, ports and transport terminals.
BFP Officer-in-Charge FCSUPT Wilberto Rico Neil A. Kwan Tiu urged the public to observe fire safety precautions, including keeping candles away from flammable materials, avoiding electrical overloading and refraining from burning dried leaves and trash in cemeteries.
Families leaving their homes unattended are advised to switch off the main circuit breaker.
The BFP will coordinate with the National Emergency Operations Center and link its operations to Unified Emergency Hotline 911 for faster emergency response.
