The Department of Justice (DOJ) Spokesperson Atty. Mico Clavano has issued a stern warning to individuals implicated in the alleged anomalous flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), urging them to conduct themselves properly amid the ongoing probe.
The DOJ spokesperson said the recent public display of Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya—who flashed a finger-heart sign and delivered remarks before the media—was inappropriate given the gravity of the case.
“The heart sign and the remarks of Ms. Sarah Discaya are all taken into account in the assessment and evaluation of the persons involved. It is a sign of insincerity and complacency,” Clavano stated.
He further stressed that the DOJ is closely monitoring the conduct of all parties linked to the investigation. “We urge all persons of interest in this case to behave accordingly,” Clavano added.
The DOJ is working alongside independent bodies and law enforcement agencies in building cases against those suspected of involvement in the multibillion-peso flood control scheme.
