A beggar discovered an infant inside a green eco bag and brought it to the nearest health center in Barangay Ligid Tipas, Taguig City, according to a report on Wednesday.

The man, identified as Barok from Barangay Napindan, found the baby among garbage on the afternoon of March 27.

“Sa gitna ng kahirapan, mas pinili pa rin ang pagiging mabuti. Isang inspirasyon para sa ating lahat si Kuya Barok, ang pulubing nakapulot ng isang sanggol at agad isinuko sa tamang awtoridad upang masiguro ang kaligtasan nito,” wrote Barangay Napindan on their social media page.

“Ang kwento ni Kuya Barok ay patunay na hindi nasusukat sa estado ng buhay ang pagiging tunay na bayani. Sa simpleng gawa ng malasakit, isang buhay ang kanyang nailigtas,” it added.

The Barangay Napindan authorities gave Barok goods like sacks of rice as tokens of appreciation for his heroism and compassion.

The baby is currently in the care of the City Social Welfare Development and in good health.
