Actress Bea Alonzo withdrew the cyber libel case she filed against Cristy Fermin and her co-hosts, after the latter issued a public apology on her vlog.

Alonzo’s camp released an official statement confirming her decision to resolve the matter through mediation.

“After two years of legal proceedings and with the case pending before the Regional Trial Court, this matter has run its course under the law. The process has not been easy for any party involved. It has required accountability, reflection and fortitude,” they said.

The camp stressed that the decision was “neither an act of retreat nor concession,” but rather “an act of resolve, anchored in forgiveness.”

“Upon deep reflection, Ms. Alonzo has chosen to forgive. Not out of weakness but out of strength. Not to erase what was done, but to free herself from a cycle of harm and hostility that no longer serves her life or her purpose,” the statement read.

The statement said that Alonzo believes this chapter must be closed “with grace, dignity, and peace.”

“We ask that this moment be seen for what it truly is. Not merely an ending, but a powerful expression of emotional maturity, personal growth & courage. We thank all those who continue to respect both the legal process & the humanity behind it,” Alonzo’s camp stated.

Fermin, alongside her co-hosts Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez, filmed an apology video addressed to Alonzo and the public on her YouTube vlog “Showbiz Now Na!”

“We deeply regret the unintended and unfortunate consequences of our actions, including the public persecution that Ms. Alonzo has endured,” they said.

The three said they would “cease and desist from any further commentary or content” that would defame Alonzo.

In May 2024, Alonzo filed a cyber libel complaint against Fermin, Ogie Diaz, and their co-hosts, her affidavit stating that she was the victim of false, malicious, and damaging information, which was publicized on Fermin’s and Diaz’s online shows.
