Bea Alonzo files separate cyberlibel cases vs Ogie Diaz, Cristy Fermin
by Christhel Cuazon03 May 2024

Bea Alonzo on Thursday, May 2 filed three separate criminal cases for cyberlibel before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office against prominent showbiz columnists and online hosts Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz along with their co-hosts on their respective programs.

The actress also reportedly lodged a complaint against an online basher who pretended to be a confidant to the showbiz personalities.

Based on a report from another media outlet, Bea's complaint affidavit states that she was a victim of false, malicious, and damaging information from someone who pretended to be close to her, which was published and discussed on Fermin and Diaz's online shows without any basis.

This included the alleged successive insults to the actress in their columns and shows, as well as the issue of her allegedly not paying the correct tax.

Accompanying Alonzo in this legal pursuit are her legal counsel, Atty. Joey Garcia, and manager, Shirley Kuan.

Bea made headlines in February after Boy Abunda and Ogie Diaz reported the end of her engagement with actor Dominic Roque.

The couple released their own statement soon after, announcing they had decided to end their engagement and, ultimately, their relationship.

Bea and Dominic got engaged in July 2023 and supposedly planned to hold their wedding this year.
