Members of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) staged a protest on Friday to condemn what the group described as the United States’ violent aggression against Venezuela and its alleged involvement in continuing violence in Palestine, according to a report by RH Boy Gonzales.
The protest began along Kalaw Avenue, where demonstrators gathered before attempting to march toward the U.S. Embassy on Roxas Boulevard. Rallyists carried placards and chanted slogans opposing U.S. foreign policy and military actions, which they claimed have resulted in civilian deaths and prolonged conflict in various parts of the world.
Bayan strongly denounced what it said were ongoing killings and acts of violence linked to U.S. troops in Palestine, calling for an end to foreign military intervention that, according to the group, worsens humanitarian conditions.
The group also raised concerns over the increasing presence of American troops in the Philippines, including plans to establish an Army Rotational Force in the country. Bayan warned that such developments deepen U.S. military involvement and undermine Philippine sovereignty.
Protesters further called for the removal of U.S. military facilities established under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), as well as the dismantling of the Typhoon missile system and other foreign weapons platforms reportedly positioned in the country. They also reiterated their demand for the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from Philippine territory.
Bayan stressed that the Philippines should not be used as a “staging ground” for U.S. military operations against other nations.
The group argued that ordinary Filipinos would bear the consequences should regional tensions escalate into wider conflict.
